THE RULES OF FOREIGN CITIZENS' ADMISSION TO BARSU IN 2011
Institution of education “ Baranovichi State University ” invites foreign citizens for getting higher education, having the education corresponding to the general secondary or specialized secondary education in the Republic of Belarus , and having finished preparatory departments of the higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus .
Foreign citizens' admission is carried out according to the following documents:
- Rules of admission to higher education institutions, ratified by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus ¹ 80 dated February 7, 2006 with amendments and additions, brought in by the President's Decrees ¹ 70 dated February 8, 2008, ¹ 52 dated January 23, 2009 and ¹ 243 dated May 12, 2009;
- Rules of foreign citizens' education in the Republic of Belarus (Decree of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus July 7, 1993 ¹ 442);
- Approximate procedure of interviewing of foreign citizens entering the higher and professional education institutions in the Republic of Belarus (supplement to the letter of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus dated August 1, 2008 ¹ 11-14-26/232);
- Instruction on the procedure of endorsement of foreign citizens' invitations for education by departments on citizenship and migration of Department of Home Affairs of the Republic of Belarus (Decree of Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus dated July 25,.2007 ¹ 175/39- à )
1. Documents necessary for foreign citizens to get an invitation for education
It is necessary to send the following documents to the University mail address, by fax or e-mail till July 5 of the current year:
- A foreign citizen's application (fulfilled in Russian);
- Notarized copy of certificate of education with indicated subjects and marks;
- Copy of the national passport;
All copies must be notarized.

2. Informing about the receipt of invitation for education and entrance visa
Having received the invitation for education at Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the applicant's country, a foreign citizen must inform the Department of Innovation and International Activities of BarSU about the approximate date of his arrival to Belarus :
3. Documents for admission to BarSU
Having arrived to Belarus a foreign citizen renders the following documents to the admission committee of the University:
- application on admission for education ( is fulfilled by the applicant at admission committee's office );
- documents on education (originals) with indicated subjects and marks;
- original of medical certificate (from the applicant's country);
- medical HIV-certificate (from the applicant's country);
- insurance policy valid in the Republic of Belarus ;
- notarized copy of birth certificate;
- 8 photos 3x4 cm;
- certificate of the faculty of pre-university training, preparatory department, preparatory courses of the higher education institutions (if there is any);
- national passport with educational visa.
It is necessary to render the notarized documents' translation into Russian or Belarusian.
The deadline of document admission - October 15.
4. Obligatory interview for foreign citizens
Foreign citizens without certificate of pre-university training / preparatory course / preparatory department or graduated from the faculty of pre-university training not corresponding to the chosen profile, must be interviewed on their knowledge of the Russian Language and profile subjects:

technical profile :
- Russian,
- Mathematics,
- Physics,
profile of the Faculty of Foreign Languages:
- Russian,
- Foreign language,
- Mathematics / General History (depending on the profile and the Rules of admission to the University for the current year).
5. Agreement and fees
The University concludes an agreement on education with an applicant.
If the interview is passed successfully, the enrolment of a foreign citizen is carried out on the basis of the agreement concluded between the University and a student.
The University provides a foreign applicant with a room in the comfortable University's dormitory.

6. Before the studies start, a foreign citizen must…
- be registered at Baranovichi Migration Office within five working days after the arrival to Belarus ;
- conclude agreements on studies and living;
- pay for studies and living;
- be examined at Baranovichi public health service.

1. What profiles of studies may be chosen at BarSU?
Full-time studies
Information systems and technologies (engineer-programmer);
Economy and production management (engineer-economist);
English. German (teacher);
English. Information science (teacher);
Economy and Management at Enterprise (economist-manager) – 4 years of studies;
Accounting, Analysis and Auditing (economist) – 4 years of studies;
Economy and Management in Tourism Industry (economist-manager);
Marketing (marketer-economist) – 4 years of studies;
Law (lawyer).
2. What form of medical certificate is required by the Admission Committee?
A foreign citizen entering BarSU should render a medical certificate issued by the public health authorities of the applicant’s country confirming his capacity to study in the climatic conditions of the Republic of Belarus (form 086/ó).
Foreign citizens, arrived for studies, should be examined at a local public health service confirming their capacity to study in the climatic conditions of the Republic of Belarus.
If there is any contradiction between a medical certificate from the applicant’s country and results of medical applicant examination in Belarus, the applicant must leave the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
A medical HIV-certificate issued by the applicant’s country authorities, is also rendered.
3. What can one do if he/she wants to study at BarSU but does not speak Russian?
Applicants with an insufficient level of Russian may be admitted to the Preparatory courses to study the Russian language and other subjects related to the chosen profile.
Applicants who finished their studies at the Faculty of Pre-university Training (Preparatory course), passed successfully the final examination and have the relevant certificate, are admitted to the University without entrance examination after interviewing.
If an applicant did not learn Russian and pass the final examination on the Preparatory department, he/ she will be expelled and will leave Belarus. As an exception, he/ she may be allowed to repeat the Preparatory course.
4. Is there any age limit for foreign citizens entering BarSU?
There is not any age limit for foreign citizens entering BarSU.
5. Are foreign students provided with rooms at University’s dormitory?
Foreign students are provided with rooms at University’s dormitory.
Foreign students have the obligations to:
• respect the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and University Regulations;
• execute the University administration’s orders;
• acquire knowledge and skills according to the chosen profile;
• attend compulsory classes, carry out all educational works determined by the Curriculum in the defined terms; pass credits and examinations in the defined terms;
• respect the Rules of residence in the University’s hostels;
• obtain the relevant authorization of the University’s administration and other required documents in the case of leaving the territory of the Republic of Belarus;
• pay for education in the defined terms according to the agreement on education.
Foreign students disregarding their obligations, are expelled from the University and must leave the territory of the Republic of Belarus within one month.
Foreign students who committed an administrative or criminal infraction, bear the responsibility for the committed actions in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
6. When do the studies at the Faculty of Pre-university Training start?
As a rule, the studies at the Faculty of Pre-university Training starts on November 1.
7. How can one get entrance visa?
An applicant renders the set of documents required for invitation to the University.
An official invitation for education may be sent to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the applicant’s country after the documents are examined, the University agreed to invite the applicant for studies and the invitation is endorsed by the departments on citizenship and migration of Department of Home Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.
All questions related to visas may be detailed at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the applicant’s country.
8. 8. How much does living in Belarus cost?
Living in Baranovichi costs on average 200 dollars a month.
9. What financial responsibility does a foreign student bear in the case of deportation?
Financial responsibility covers the foreign student’s transportation from Belarus to the country of his residence and his maintenance in places defined by the authorities.
10. Are there any requirements for document sending?
The following information should be indicated on a package: faculty, specialization and form of studies (distant or full-time studies).
