Scientific and innovative activity development takes central place in the implementation of main university mission as a center of science, education and innovations. Therefore research and innovative activity is one of the most important elements in the work of university staff, postgraduate, master and undergraduate students. It's an integral part of education, retraining, refresher training and highly-qualified professional training.
Scientific research is aimed at acquiring fundamental knowledge, solving applied problems, creating new pedagogical and social technologies, ensuring high level of scientific professional training, providing scientific and methodological support of innovative processes in the field of science and education, implementing scientific research results into practice.
The university carries out scientific and innovative activity in compliance with the main scientific vectors oriented to priority areas of research and technical activity in the Republic of Belarus:
- power supply, untraditional and renewable energy sources, energy-saving and effective energy use, creation of energy and resources saving construction systems of next generation;
- machine mechanics, reliability and security of technical systems, increase of competitiveness of machine-building products;
- physical, chemical, biological and genetic methods and technologies of new substances, materials, modified biological forms, nanomaterials and nanotechnologies making;
- increase of agro-industrial complex efficiency and product security level, elaboration of intensive and resources-saving technologies of agriculture management;
- mathematical and physical modeling of systems, structures and processes in the nature and the society, information technologies, creation of a modern information infrastructure;
- ecological security, protection of the environment, mineral resources and subsoil of Belarus, effective use and renewal of natural resources, prevention and liquidation of emergencies;
- theoretical and methodological basis of forming an innovative socially oriented economy in the Republic of Belarus , ensuring its stable development in cooperation with the global economic system;
- philosophical and world-view premises, logical and methodological basis of social progress and stability, development of personality, culture and education, formation of Belarusian society ideology.

The 1 stage of the scientific research work “Elaboration and implementation of models of psychological and pedagogical support of students with features of psychophysical development in the educational space of the university” was realized on instructions of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, contract ¹ 003/11 dated 01.03.2011, research supervisor: V.V. Khitryuk, candidate of Pedagogy, associate professor.
The first (diagnosis and prognostication) and the second (detection of potential problems (troubles)) stages of the technology of psychological and pedagogical support of students with features of psychophysical development on the basis of the educational institution “Baranovichi State University” were realized; the diagnosis of potential cognitive, emotional and personnel troubles was conducted; adaptive training for group mates of students with features of psychophysical development was carried out; a seminar with supervising professors of groups with students with features of psychophysical development, subject consulting of parents of students with features of psychophysical development were held.

Researches within the economic contract with the Committee on Agriculture and Food of Brest Region Executive Committee “Elaboration of science-based energy-saving technologies of winter barley and soya cultivation for soil and climatic conditions of the southern part of the Republic of Belarus ” are conducted; research supervisor: V.I. Kochurko, doctor of Agricultural Sciences, professor.
Researches on the breeds of winter barley Tereza, Cinderella and Gregar and the breeds of soya Pripiat, Polessky and Yaselda are carried out at the instructional farm of the structural subdivision “ Lyakhovichi State Agrarian College ” of the educational institution “ Baranovichi State University ”.
A research program was elaborated: research goal, tasks and scheme of experiments were defined. The experiments are prepared. Analysis of scientific literature on the research topic is realized in compliance with the calendar plan of work. A number of information resources (papers in research journals, dissertation abstracts, special literature) of national and foreign authors was studied. The technologies of winter barley and soya cultivation in regions of Russia and CIS countries, main researches on this topic were examined. Essential methods of analysis and observation used in the research program were studied.
Work on the execution of tasks within the State Complex Program for Scientific Research “Economy and society” for 2006 – 2010 is completed:
- “Elaboration, approbation and implementation of methodological guidelines on the order of accounting of intellectual property objects of economic entities of the Republic of Belarus” State Reg. ¹ 20061838, research supervisor: G.Y. Zhitkevich, candidate of Economics, associate professor.
The preprint “Human capital is a new accounting object”, containing elaborated methods of assessment, accounting and analysis of the human capital, is published (authors: A.N. Korob, G.Y. Zhitkevich).
The methods of accounting of some intangible assets of industrial property movement (execution of documents, creation, earnings, donation, elimination, transfer into use and reflection in accounting) are worked out. Research results are reflected in the collections of international theoretical-and-practical conferences' materials. There are 2 acts on the research results implementation into practice. The paper “Documents execution of intangible asset transactions” transactions” is published in the journal under review “Economy and Management”.
- “Elaboration of the scientific concept and program of social and economic development of Baranovichi region on the basis of more efficient use of resources and investment potential ”, State Reg. ¹ 20061837, research supervisor: Å .I Platonenko, candidate of Economics, associate professor.
The world experience was analyzed and systematized. The methods of studying features of the regional economy of the Republic of Belarus were worked out. Materials necessary for analyzing and assessing the potential of complex economy development of Baranovichi region were accumulated. A science-based method of studying features of the regional economy of Baranovichi region was elaborated. There are 4 acts on the research results implementation into practice.
The scientific research work “Xylophilic coleopterous of the National Park “Belavezhskaya Pushtcha” ” is carried out on instructions of the Belarusian Republican Fund for Fundamental Research, contract ¹ Á 10 Ì -066, research supervisor: Ì . À . Lukashenya.
Researches aimed at revealing the taxonomic and ecologic structure of xylophilic coleopterous of the National Park “Belavezhskaya Pushtcha” were conducted. The area of researches ahead, including derivative and native forests and reserved zones of the national park (the territory of Korolevo-Mostovsky, Pashukovsky, Nikorsky, Belyansky, Yazvinsky forestries) was defined. 2 papers were prepared on the basis of research results.
The scientific research work “Coleopterous insects in the nests of water and pre-water birds on the territory of Pre-Polesye and Polesye regions of Belarus ” is being conducted on instructions of the Belarusian Republican Fund for Fundamental Research, contract ¹ Á 09 Ì -047, State Reg. ¹ 20092817, research supervisor: D.S. Lundyshev.
The taxonomic structure of coleopterous insects dwelling in the nests of water and pre-water birds on the territory of Pre-Polesye and Polesye regions of Belarus , collected from 18 geographic spots of Brest and Gomel regions, was defined.
An intermediate report, 4 papers including 2 papers published abroad, 2 reports at theoretical-and-practical conferences were prepared.
The scientific research work “Structural and functional transformation of biota of small rivers flood ecosystems under the anthropogenic influence” was completed on instructions of the Belarusian Republican Fund for Fundamental Research, contract ¹ Á 08-185, State Reg. ¹ 20082071, research supervisor: S. Ê . Ryndevich, candidate of Biology, associate professor.
The practical guidelines aimed at preserving ecosystems of small rivers were elaborated and transferred to Baranovichi District Inspection of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Theoretical materials obtained during the research were implemented in the educational process of the university in the form of lectures on Biology.
Guidelines on using bio - indicators of the ecological state of small rivers flood ecosystems suffering from different levels of the anthropogenic influence may be applied to the observation of this ecosystems by environmental protection inspections , land users , research organizations for working out measures to preserve and to use rationally biological resources of small rivers floods of the country, to organize and to conduct flood ecosystems monitoring. Obtained results may be used in the educational process of the institutions of higher and secondary education for teaching Biology disciplines and taking measures on ecological education.
As a result of the research work, the final report, 1 educational and methodological textbook, 7 papers including 3 papers published abroad, 4 reports at theoretical-and-practical conferences were prepared.
The final stage of “Research of strong electromagnetic field influence on the structure and phase composition of highly loaded steel wares for the purposes of elaborating methods of their performance improving” was completed on the instruction 3.34 within the State Program for Oriented Fundamental Research “Highly-Energy, Nuclear and Radiation Technologies” research supervisor: À .V. Alifanov, doctor of Technical Sciences, associate professor.
Two magnetic-impulse plants were created, the dependences of pattern destruction load rates under pressure, their microstructure in magnetic-impulse treatment modes were defined, methods of defining strength features of cylindrical patterns for torsion were worked out with use of the elaborated and designed plant and of conducting electronic and microscopic study of metal surfaces before and after treatment by the electromagnetic field. The magnetic-impulse plant SFT 9.120.00.00.00.000 was applied in the educational process for the execution of practical and laboratory works in subjects “Problems of Machine-Tool Construction” and “Technological Support of Machine Details Reliability”.
